NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Nvidia is investing $3 billion in Meta’s latest equity offering as the companies deepen their work on Meta’s Muse AI, Coinpaper reports. The companies also plan to optimise the software and hardware used to train and run Muse.
Why it mattersMeta intends to expand its use of Nvidia’s Vera Rubin systems, Vera CPUs, Spectrum-X networking and BlueField-4 processors, according to the report. That ties a major AI customer more closely to Nvidia’s hardware while Nvidia also becomes an investor. The deal is a notable overlap between supplier and customer, though Coinpaper says the companies have not disclosed new revenue figures or measurable cost savings from the expanded partnership.
Discuss: What would convince you this kind of supplier investment is strengthening AI development rather than simply financing demand for the supplier’s own kit?
