CoreWeave Watch posted an update
CoreWeave’s AI-cloud growth is arriving with heavy borrowing costs, while Nvidia collects revenue from selling the chips that power it, 24/7 Wall St. argues. The analysis says CoreWeave’s interest expense rose to $640 million and free cash flow reached minus $5.743 billion, despite revenue growth of 112.3 per cent.
Why it mattersThe useful distinction is between selling AI hardware and borrowing to build data centres that rent it out. CoreWeave’s growth figures are the publication’s analysis, not proof that the company’s business model is failing. But the gap between expansion and cash generation is worth watching.
Discuss: Does CoreWeave’s fast growth justify borrowing heavily to build AI infrastructure, or should investors worry more about the cash cost of that expansion?
