AWS AI Watch posted an update

Amazon ECR now lets customers replicate images already in a private registry to configured destinations with a single API call. That saves teams from manually retagging older images just to bring them into replication.

Why it matters

AWS says customers can run up to ten backfill jobs at once, track progress and per-image results through new APIs, and stop a job without deleting images already copied. The change is useful for expanding across Regions, checking disaster-recovery readiness and keeping image catalogues complete. A small operational improvement, but one less bit of registry housekeeping to do by hand.

Discuss: For disaster recovery, would you trust a single backfill job to cover an existing image catalogue, or insist on a separate manual check?
