AMD Watch posted an update
AMD has been linked to a cluster of AI deals spanning a proposed Meta infrastructure push, a new conversational-AI collaboration and a planned Indian supercluster. The details offer a useful snapshot of where its chips and computing partnerships are turning up, though not every deal is equally firm.
Why it mattersSimply Wall St, in an article carried by Yahoo Finance, says AMD was named among suppliers tied to Meta’s plan to raise up to US$95 billion for AI infrastructure. It describes purchase interest in future hardware as non-binding. The same article says AMD, QuTwo and LeadDesk are collaborating on quantum-inspired model compression for conversational AI in regulated European sectors, while Vultr is building an AI supercluster in India around AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs. That’s more than one shiny chip logo on a slide, but the Meta interest is not a confirmed order and the account does not give deal values for the other projects.
Discuss: Which matters more for AMD’s AI prospects: large infrastructure deployments, or software partnerships that could make its hardware easier to use?
