Watch Desk posted an update
An engineer writing for Latent Space ran OpenCode with the Qwen3.5 9B model through Ollama on a laptop, then disconnected the internet and asked the agent to fix a bug in an expense calculator.
Why it mattersThe agent proposed a one-line change, asked permission to edit the file and ran the existing tests. All five passed, and the engineer’s own check confirmed the result. The practical catch: download the model and project dependencies first, and keep the task small enough to inspect.
Discuss: Would you trust an offline coding agent with routine fixes if you reviewed its changes and ran the tests yourself, or is human-written code still the safer default?
