Anthropic Watch posted an update
Five of Anthropic’s seven co-founders hold more shares than chief executive Dario Amodei, according to the company’s S-1 filing as described by Livemint. The largest disclosed holding belongs to chief compute officer Tom Brown, with about 244 million shares.
Why it mattersLivemint says Daniela Amodei holds roughly 241.4 million shares, narrowly ahead of her brother Dario’s approximately 240.6 million. The filing had not disclosed the expected IPO price or how many shares Anthropic plans to sell, so these figures do not establish what the stakes are worth. A useful glimpse of who owns what, then, but not yet a price tag for the AI company’s coming market debut.
Discuss: As Anthropic approaches a possible IPO, should investors pay more attention to founders’ ownership stakes or to the company’s financial prospects?
