Mazda has integrated Google’s Gemini into CX-5 models with Google built-in, adding a more flexible voice assistant to the family SUV.
Why it mattersDrivers can ask for places that fit a preference, such as a café with outdoor seating, then refine the search in follow-up questions. They can also ask Gemini to choose music for their mood, with playback through Spotify, YouTube Music or Amazon Music. That gives the assistant a practical job beyond answering questions: helping with searches and music while driving. The Irish News describes the features, attributing the destination-search approach to Mazda.
Discuss: Is a conversational assistant useful enough to change how you use a car, or should in-car tech stick to simpler, predictable commands?
