Executives using AI for business planning should bring an independent view to the prompt, then set in advance what evidence would prove or disprove the answer. That is the practical advice in an essay by Joseph Byrum, a Forbes Councils member.
Why it mattersByrum suggests asking for alternatives from different perspectives and treating the familiar, one-line answer as a baseline. For a prospecting plan, he says, that could mean defining a target number of qualified replies from a buyer segment within a set period before launching it. The point: fluent output is not a market test, however polished it sounds.
Discuss: Should executives set success criteria before asking AI for advice, or does that risk ruling out useful ideas too early?
