Supabase has launched Supabase Compute in private alpha, letting developers run agents, background jobs and APIs inside a project alongside its data.
Why it mattersThe company says it provides a full Linux environment, with Node, Deno and Dockerfile deployments supported. That could make it easier to keep agent workloads close to the services and data they use, rather than stitching together separate infrastructure. There are substantial early limits: the alpha is restricted to the us-west-2 region and has no autoscaling, persistent disks or GPUs. A useful new building block, then, but not yet a ready-made home for every agent.
Discuss: Would you rather run agents alongside your application data, even with early infrastructure limits, or keep them isolated in separate services?
