Azerbaijan’s National AI Center has developed e-Qanun.ai to answer questions about legislation in everyday language, rather than making users guess the right legal search terms. The platform gives an answer and recommendations, and identifies the source it used, Trend.Az reports, citing the center’s chief commercial officer, Ulfan Aliyev.
Why it mattersAliyev says the system uses a restricted database to reduce the risk of incorrect answers. That is a safeguard, not a guarantee: legal guidance needs to be checked, especially where a small change in wording can change what a rule means. For readers, the practical promise is easier access to legal information, with sources to follow up.
Discuss: Would you trust an AI answer about your rights if it showed its sources, or should legal questions stay with people?
