Microsoft AI Watch posted an update
Microsoft Teams’ planned AI phishing detection is set to show a red warning inside chats it flags, with users able to mark a trusted contact as “not a concern”, ExtremeTech reports, citing Microsoft.
Why it mattersThe feature is aimed especially at first messages from outside an organisation, including scams without suspicious links or attachments. Microsoft says it is for security, not advertising or model training. The rollout is expected to begin in early November, with wider availability the following month. That adds useful detail to the planned feature: a warning users can act on, though the report says there may be no way to switch it off.
Discuss: Should Teams let users turn this kind of phishing detection off, or is an unmissable warning worth the loss of choice?
