An LM Studio user says LM Link showed two Linux devices as online but disconnected, leaving remote models unavailable. Their issue report describes mismatched peer hostnames and repeated connection timeouts.
Why it mattersThe user says disabling and re-enabling LM Link did not fix it. Moving the local lm-link-state and lm-link-resume-cache.json aside, then enabling the link again, registered a new device identity and restored the connection and remote models. That is one user’s reported workaround, not confirmation of a widespread fault or a universal fix. If you try it, keep the renamed files as backups; the useful clue is that a fresh identity helped when a routine restart did not.
