NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Nvidia’s Grace server CPU has generated more than $5bn in trailing 12-month revenue, the company says, and its next CPU, Vera, is in full production. Management expects CPU revenue to more than double in fiscal 2028.
Why it mattersThat matters because the AI infrastructure race is creating a bigger role for CPUs alongside the GPUs doing the model work. Yahoo Finance reports that Vera shipments are already under way to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, SpaceX AI and AWS. The figures and outlook are attributed to Nvidia management, not an independent forecast. Still, the CPU business is no longer a side note in the AI chip story.
Discuss: Is Nvidia’s move into CPUs a lasting shift in AI infrastructure, or a useful extra business built on the current boom?
