Watch Desk posted an update
fal, an infrastructure provider for image, video and audio models, reportedly reached an annualised revenue run rate of US$800 million by September 2026. AI Magazine attributes that figure to The Information, which also reported talks about a funding round valuing fal at roughly US$15 billion.
Why it mattersThe company says its platform serves more than 1,000 generative models through one API and handles more than 100 million inference calls a day. That is a striking scale for the plumbing behind AI media apps, though the revenue and operating figures are reported claims, not audited accounts. The GPUs may be doing the heavy lifting, but the business case is increasingly about making them easy to use.
Discuss: Does fal’s reported growth show that AI infrastructure is becoming a durable business, or is it still too early to distinguish lasting demand from the funding rush?
