AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS has added custom Python plugins to Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB 3, letting users keep workload-specific transformations, alerts, aggregations and integrations close to their data.
Why it mattersPlugin code can live in a public or private repository and run from the database engine’s existing triggers, inside a managed environment with the standard library and Amazon-vetted packages. Setup uses a DB parameter group and the influxdb3 CLI or HTTP API; private repositories authenticate through AWS Secrets Manager.
Discuss: Would running custom Python logic inside a managed time-series database simplify your stack, or make operational debugging harder?
