Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic’s IPO filing describes a multi-chip strategy using hardware from Amazon, Google, Nvidia and AMD, Business Insider reports. Analysts cited by the publication say that flexibility could weaken Nvidia’s pricing power and reduce reliance on its supply chain.
Why it mattersSwitching chips remains difficult and expensive, the report notes, and is largely out of reach for smaller companies. So this is a potential shift in bargaining power, not proof that Anthropic can easily swap suppliers.
Discuss: If a major AI company can credibly use several chip suppliers, how much leverage should that give it over pricing?
