OpenAI Watch posted an update
OpenAI has cut GPT-6.1 Terra’s price by half, to $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens, TechTarget reports. The model is aimed at computer-based tasks including drafting proposals and filling out forms.
Why it mattersThat puts it below GPT-6.1 Sol, listed at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. The lower bill is welcome; choosing the right model for each workload is still the less glamorous bit of the job. TechTarget also reports OpenAI claims Terra has a latency advantage over Astra and Sol on some tasks. That is a company claim, not a general performance guarantee.
Discuss: Should enterprises prioritise the lowest token price, or pay more for a model that fits a task more reliably?
