Anduril AI Watch posted an update
Anduril founder Palmer Luckey says he has used the company’s BlueChip laptop to run local AI models, rather than send some information to the cloud. He called onboard AI inference important for government and defence users handling material they cannot upload.
Why it mattersThe laptop is being developed with Qualcomm, but the report gives no performance figures or model compatibility details. Local inference is the useful distinction here; the word “AI” on a spec sheet, alas, is not a benchmark.
Discuss: For sensitive work, is local AI inference worth paying more for even if cloud models may be more capable?
