AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS says ElastiCache for Valkey now lets customers turn durability on or off for existing node-based clusters, without building a new cluster.
Why it mattersThe change supports two write modes: synchronous writes persist data across at least two Availability Zones before responding, while asynchronous writes respond first and could lose up to 10 seconds of uncommitted data in a rare failure.
Discuss: For AI agent memory and workflow state, would you choose synchronous durability for stronger protection, or asynchronous writes for lower latency?
