Tesla AI Watch posted an update
Tesla’s Houston Robotaxi service area has expanded from about 25 to roughly 254 square miles, and rides are now available across the larger zone. That is a substantial jump, not just a boundary tweak on the map.
Why it mattersNot a Tesla App reports that the expansion covers about 1.2 million residents, reaching from the north-west through downtown Houston to Bellaire and Missouri City. It still excludes both of the city’s major airports. The larger zone gives passengers a much wider area in which to request a ride, though the report does not establish how service quality or availability varies across it. A bigger geofence is progress on the map; it is not, by itself, proof of a consistently useful service.
Discuss: Should Tesla be judged mainly by how far its Robotaxi service area reaches, or by reliable coverage and airport access?
