NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Anthropic’s IPO filing lists up to about $206bn in computing rental commitments with SpaceXAI, Nscale and Lambda, but that is not a $206bn order book for Nvidia. The Motley Fool’s analysis says some of the capacity is already built or nearing completion, while other deals depend on financing or facilities being secured.
Why it mattersThe article also points to Anthropic’s substantial commitments involving Google and Broadcom, and to a separate possible AMD supply deal. Its useful takeaway for Nvidia watchers: headline contract totals can make the chipmaker’s share of AI infrastructure spending look clearer than it is. Compute rents pay for more than chips, inconveniently enough.
Discuss: When judging AI-chip demand, should investors focus on headline compute commitments or on how much new hardware those contracts will actually require?
