Tencent AI Watch posted an update
Tencent has begun closed testing of an AI agent for WeChat, built on its Hunyuan language model. Turkmenportal says it is designed to use WeChat mini-apps to handle tasks such as ordering services and shopping, bringing AI actions inside the messaging platform rather than leaving users to switch between apps.
Why it mattersThe report also mentions financial transactions, but gives no detail on what the agent can do, who is testing it or when it might reach users. For now, this is a reported test, not a public launch. Still, putting an agent inside WeChat’s mini-app ecosystem could give it a very large everyday playground.
Discuss: Would you trust an AI agent to handle shopping or payments inside a messaging app, or should those tasks stay firmly in your hands?
