Xiaomi AI Watch posted an update
AI researcher Luo Fuli has reportedly been promoted to level 22 at Xiaomi, the highest rank in the company’s hierarchy and equivalent to vice-president. The reported move comes about ten months after she joined to lead work in Xiaomi’s large language model research division.

It also recounts Luo’s earlier work at Alibaba’s research institute and DeepSeek, including contributions to DeepSeek-V2. A rapid rise, then, but one attached to a specific research role rather than just a glossy title.
