Turning a still photo into a short AI video is less a matter of prompt poetry than choosing the right mode. A Hugging Face community article by the maker of AI Photo Animator says to use Frames when the original photo should remain the opening image, and Photo or reference mode when you want the subject in a new scene.
Why it mattersThe author recommends starting with a clear, well-lit image, describing one main action and matching the aspect ratio to where the clip will appear. A five-second draft can test the result before you spend more on a longer or higher-quality version. These are the product maker’s workflow tips, not a model benchmark. Still, they offer a practical way out of prompt roulette.
Discuss: Is it better to preserve the original photo closely, or give the model room to invent a new scene?
