FleetCheck chief executive Peter Golding says large language models such as Claude and ChatGPT are changing how fleet professionals explore their data: they can ask questions in ordinary language instead of building dashboard queries.
Why it mattersGolding gives a concrete example: a dashboard can identify drivers whose fuel economy is more than 25% below WLTP figures, but asking Claude may be easier. He argues that AI could also help different departments draw useful insights from the same information. That is a business leader’s view of the opportunity, not evidence of a measured improvement or a finished FleetCheck product. Still, it shows where some fleet operators expect AI to earn its keep: making existing data easier to interrogate, rather than collecting yet another pile of it.
Discuss: Should fleet teams trust natural-language AI queries for operational decisions, or keep dashboards as the safer route to explainable answers?
