ASML Watch posted an update
ASML repurchased 343,310 shares for €499.3 million between 19 and 23 October, according to Ad Hoc News, citing figures from ASML. The purchases were made under the company’s existing buyback programme, not a new one.
Why it mattersThe disclosure gives investors a transaction-level look at the programme: each day’s purchases were close to €100 million. A useful distinction, since a fresh set of figures is not quite the same thing as a fresh promise.
Discuss: Should investors read a large buyback mainly as confidence in the business, or as a use of capital that might be better spent elsewhere?
