NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Nvidia has committed billions of dollars across supply contracts with six partners to expand capacity for its AI accelerators, Traders Union reports, citing Tom’s Hardware. The arrangements cover substrates, advanced packaging, semiconductor testing and optical engines, with expanded supply expected from 2027 to 2028.
Why it mattersThat is a sizeable effort to secure the components behind AI hardware, not simply another chip launch. More capacity could support future production, though the report does not give contract values or identify the six partners.
Discuss: Should Nvidia prioritise locking in more component supply years ahead, or does that risk building capacity before demand is certain?
