Bloomberg reports that financing the AI data-centre and chip build-out is getting harder: yields on some infrastructure bonds and loans have climbed into double digits, while bankers struggle to offload risk.

Why it matters

The report also cites Elon Musk warning that hundreds of neoclouds could face collapse if they lose access to fresh financing. That is a warning, not evidence that those companies are already failing. It is a useful signal that the AI infrastructure boom faces a funding test as well as a demand test. Are higher borrowing costs a necessary market correction, or could they derail too much of the build-out?
