SK Hynix Watch posted an update
SK hynix says semiconductor shortages could persist through 2030, with its DRAM and high-bandwidth memory production capacity effectively booked. The company reported third-quarter revenue of 104.6 trillion won, Korea Times reports.
Why it mattersThat gives the AI build-out a useful reality check: demand for computing power depends on memory supply too, and more capacity cannot be summoned by a strongly worded procurement email. The report also links SK hynix’s outlook to a sharp Seoul market rally, but the investor reaction is not proof that shortages will last.
Discuss: Should chipmakers prioritise expanding supply, or is reserving scarce capacity for long-term customers the wiser move?
