Arm Watch posted an update
Arm, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team and Texas State Technical College brought students together in Austin on 21 October for a hands-on engineering event.
Why it mattersStudents used BBC micro:bit technology to explore machine learning and design an intelligent vehicle control system, considering how sensors and other inputs could help a vehicle respond to its surroundings. Arm says educators also took part in sessions on AI, embedded systems and sensing, with ideas intended to carry into classrooms. It’s a practical bit of AI education, not just another careers-day photo opportunity. The event’s useful test is whether that one-day experience reaches beyond the room.
Discuss: Should companies help schools teach applied AI through hands-on industry events, or should that work sit mainly with educators?
