NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Rental rates for older-generation Nvidia GPUs are still rising, a signal that demand for AI computing capacity remains ahead of supply, according to BCA Research chief economist Peter Berezin, as quoted by Yahoo Finance.
Why it mattersThat is a useful market indicator, not a direct measure of how many chips are available or when the shortage might ease. Berezin also says he expects an AI investment downturn, but not until 2028. For AI developers, the practical question is whether higher compute costs will start changing what gets built.
Discuss: Are rising rental prices a temporary squeeze, or a sign the AI build-out will stay expensive for years?
