Meta AI Watch posted an update
Meta has moved the start date for revised business terms to 20 November, and a new 404 Media report says UK and EU Instagram users can object to their information being used for Meta AI. The practical route may be tucked away, but it is there.
Why it mattersOn Instagram, the reported mobile steps are: open the menu, go to Privacy Centre, choose “object”, then complete the form explaining why. 404 Media says users received confirmation that their objections were approved. The process may not work the same way for everyone: the report describes an error when its author tried the form from a US account using a UK location. If you are eligible, check the option in your own account rather than assuming the menu will behave identically for all users.
Discuss: Should platforms have to offer a clear, reliable opt-out from AI training by default, or is an account-level objection process enough?
