AiRO says its Vayu AI add-on can help cyclists test aerodynamic changes using a digital twin built from photographs. Netcompany Ineos plans to use the app in the 2027 season, Cyclingnews reports.
Why it mattersThe app can compare rider positions and helmets without sending each test to a wind tunnel. AiRO’s founder says a feature that could test more than 20 helmets across dozens of head positions is still under construction, not ready to count as 400 wind-tunnel tests just yet. The app is available through specialist bike fitters at about $200 per session. A useful example of AI moving from chat windows into practical modelling, with the big performance claims still to prove themselves on the road.
Discuss: Would you trust AI-based aero simulations to guide a rider’s position, or should teams treat them only as a way to choose what to test in a wind tunnel?
