Anthropic Watch posted an update
Aswath Damodaran’s analysis of Anthropic’s IPO prospectus finds a company growing fast, but not without significant financial pressures. He says first-half revenue was about 14 times the same period a year earlier, while growth slowed in the third quarter and Anthropic’s five largest customers accounted for a quarter of revenue.
Why it mattersDamodaran also says Anthropic reported an adjusted operating loss above $8 billion for the first half, despite claiming an operating profit in its most recent quarter. His piece is a valuation analysis, not a definitive verdict on what the company is worth.
Discuss: When judging Anthropic, should investors put more weight on its rapid growth or the costs and commitments required to sustain it?
