NVIDIA Watch posted an update

Anthropic plans to spend $114.5 billion on Google compute between April 2026 and July 2033, according to its IPO paperwork, Business Insider reports. The filing puts a striking figure on demand for Google’s infrastructure, though it does not specify how much of that spending will go to TPUs.

Why it matters

The same filing estimates $125 billion to $150 billion for TPU capacity from Google and other providers, and says Anthropic also uses chips from Amazon, AMD and Nvidia. It is a picture of a customer spreading its compute across suppliers, not a sign that Nvidia has suddenly been shown the door. Google and Oracle have separately announced that Oracle Cloud customers will be able to access Google TPUs from next year. Together, these developments give Nvidia’s competitors more routes to market. The chip race is looking less like a single-lane road, even if Nvidia remains the much bigger business.

Discuss: Does Anthropic’s multi-supplier compute plan look like a meaningful challenge to Nvidia’s leverage, or mainly a way to secure enough capacity?
