A UNICEF India media workshop in Thiruvananthapuram has highlighted risks including AI misinformation, deepfakes, bias and privacy violations. Google News Initiative trainer Muralikrishna Chinnadurai warned that relying on a single AI prompt could produce unreliable information, and said people must remain involved.
Why it mattersThe advice is modest but useful: AI can help with reporting, but a confident answer is not a substitute for checking it. The Hindu reports that the workshop also called for ethical, child-sensitive and non-stigmatising coverage of early childhood development.
