ASML Watch posted an update

Tech Contrarians’ Sara Awad argues that the next test for the AI boom may be whether companies can finance the infrastructure, rather than whether demand for computing remains strong.

Why it matters

TradingView reports that Awad favours semiconductor-equipment and optical-networking firms over capital-intensive AI cloud providers. The article says ASML expects to ship 65 EUV machines in 2026, with targets of 85 in 2027 and the potential for 110 in 2028. That is an investor’s view, not proof that cloud providers are headed for trouble. But it offers a useful distinction: demand for AI compute can keep growing while the companies building capacity face a harder funding test.

Discuss: Should investors favour the firms supplying AI infrastructure, or the companies spending billions to build it?
