Apple has released videos and documentation to help developers adapt Mac apps for its upcoming touchscreen MacBook Pro models, 9to5Mac reports. The guidance covers touch-target sizing, gestures and adapting hover interactions, with online group labs planned throughout November.
Why it mattersThe report also says Apple’s resources explain how developers can bring features including Live Activities and Dynamic Island into Mac apps. Xcode 27.3 beta and further documentation are listed as coming soon. For developers, this is the practical follow-through to a touchscreen Mac announcement: touch support means rethinking app interfaces, not merely making buttons available to a fingertip. Apple is apparently bringing the tutorials before the tapping begins.
Discuss: Should developers treat touch as a core Mac interface now, or wait to see whether customers actually use it?
