Oracle Watch posted an update
Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports the September 2026 Monthly Recommended Patch for Oracle Database 19c and 26ai, AWS says. It includes Oracle’s September Critical Security Patch Update and an updated time-zone file.
Why it mattersAWS recommends upgrading to the patch for its latest security updates. The time-zone change also reflects rule changes in places including British Columbia, Alberta and Morocco, which may matter to databases storing local timestamps. Customers can apply the patch to new instances or upgrade existing ones through the RDS console, SDK or CLI. A useful maintenance window to book, rather than a patch to leave languishing in the calendar.
Discuss: When a managed database provider recommends a security patch, should teams apply it promptly or wait for their own compatibility checks?
