StepFun Watch posted an update
StepFun demonstrated its StepX Neo phone using an AI agent to find an EV charger and arrange a coffee delivery around the charging session. The demo took place at Shanghai’s World AI Conference in July, Sixth Tone reports; StepFun has not announced a price or release date.
Why it mattersThe agent used stored preferences to choose a charger and prepare the order, with the user still confirming the coffee purchase. That is a glimpse of an AI phone doing more than answering questions, though it is still a demonstration, not a product you can pop in your pocket today.
Discuss: Would you let a phone’s AI coordinate everyday services using your saved preferences, or should each app keep its own boundaries?
