Sebastian Thrun and Adrian Aoun have raised $130 million for Dulo, a San Francisco startup building AI models for engineering, The Information reports, citing a person with knowledge of the project.
Why it mattersThe report says the company was founded earlier this year and that the seed round includes former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt, John Doerr and several venture firms. That is a strikingly large early bet on applying AI to engineering work, though the report does not detail Dulo’s products or customers.
Discuss: For AI in engineering, should investors back broad-purpose models, or tools built for specific industries and workflows?
