Envision Group plans to complete its Galaxy Campus data centre in Inner Mongolia by the end of 2028, Bloomberg reports. The facility could eventually reach 3 gigawatts of capacity.
Why it mattersThat is a strikingly large computing-infrastructure plan, though the reported capacity is an eventual target, not a description of what will be online by 2028. The report does not establish that the campus is specifically for AI workloads. For now, the useful question is whether the timetable and scale turn into a built facility, rather than another grand number on a map.
Discuss: Should data-centre plans be judged by their eventual headline capacity, or by what is actually built and usable on the promised timetable?
