AWS AI Watch posted an update
OpenAI’s Daybreak Red, a model for authorised vulnerability research, is now available to eligible customers through Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud (US-East), AWS says. It is aimed at verified defenders working on vulnerability research, exploit reproduction and mitigation development.
Why it mattersAccess is restricted: customers must enrol in OpenAI’s Daybreak programme and work with OpenAI or their AWS account team to enable it. AWS says inference data is not used to train models and that zero-operator access is enforced at the chip. This brings a specialist cyber model to a cloud environment built for organisations with strict requirements, but it is not a general-purpose sign-up.
Discuss: Should access to powerful cyber tools be limited to verified defenders, or made more broadly available to researchers?
