Anthropic Watch posted an update

Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, an always-on AI agent that runs on a virtual machine and can work through connected apps and the web. Engadget says it is in preview for US Claude Pro and Max subscribers via a waitlist.

Why it matters

Anthropic plans to include Duet in its $20-a-month Pro plan and above. That gives subscribers a concrete price point for trying an agent designed to act beyond a single chat, though access is currently limited.

Discuss: Would you let an always-on AI agent work across your connected apps, or should that kind of access remain off-limits?

    Update What changed

Engadget says Claude Duet’s preview is limited to US Claude Pro and Max subscribers who join a waitlist. The sign-up asks for a name, company, email address, phone type and a description of the work users want to hand off; Anthropic offers standalone Duet apps on Android and iOS.

Duet’s usage comes out of the same allowance as Claude’s other apps, including Claude Code and Cowork.

The agent can produce a daily briefing from connected apps and account memory, and users can delegate tasks such as scheduling meetings or building a sales and cashflow dashboard. Anthropic is also using the preview to gather feedback on how often Duet messages people.

That makes the trade-off more concrete: Duet is designed to act between chats, but its usefulness depends on what information users connect and share with Anthropic.
