TSMC Watch posted an update
TSMC could begin trial production at its first Taichung 14A factory in April 2027, with mass production following later that year, Wccftech reports from Taiwanese press and local-authority details. That would pull the next-generation process forward from an earlier 2028 expectation.
Why it mattersIt is a timetable, not a tray of finished chips, and WittyWires could not independently verify the underlying report. Still, an earlier start would matter as AI demand keeps TSMC’s existing advanced lines exceptionally busy.
Discuss: Would an accelerated 14A timetable meaningfully ease advanced-chip constraints, or will packaging and power remain the bigger bottlenecks?
