Utopai Studios has appointed Hans Ku as chief product officer, putting a former Disney AI executive in charge of scaling its technology and developing PAI, its cinematic storytelling engine.

Ku’s remit spans product, engineering, research and business development for the film and TV studio. TVBEurope reports that he previously led AI and engineering work at Disney, including generative-content strategy and research into AI-native production pipelines. The appointment connects AI tools directly to a studio’s production plans. The interesting test is whether PAI becomes a working tool for filmmakers, rather than another promising name in the credits.
