Google Maps could nudge travellers to use its Ask Maps AI when they land, with code pointing to more than 90 airports worldwide. It is a glimpse of a possible feature, not a confirmed rollout.
Why it mattersExtremeTech, citing Android Authority’s inspection of an app build, says the proposed notification would offer help getting into town, finding a first meal and seeing what is happening that evening. The code also suggests the prompt could open a pre-written question in Ask Maps. APK teardowns can reveal features still in development, and there is no guarantee this one will launch. Still, a travel assistant arriving at just the right moment is either useful timing or one more app eager to greet you at baggage claim.
Discuss: Should location-triggered AI suggestions be opt-in, or are they a fair trade for timely help?
