AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS says Amazon Bedrock can now run Kimi K3 inference within India, with processing confined to its Mumbai and Hyderabad regions. Customers can select an India-specific inference profile, a practical option for workloads with strict data-residency requirements.
Why it mattersThe announcement also gives an example using the model to read Hindi documents and answer follow-up questions in Hinglish. The sample documents are synthetic, so the useful news is the local processing option, not a promise that every real-world document will be handled perfectly.
Discuss: For workloads involving sensitive local data, is keeping inference within national borders worth accepting a narrower choice of locations and models?
