NVIDIA Watch posted an update
High-bandwidth memory is becoming one of AI hardware’s nastier bottlenecks.
Why it mattersThe supplied report says Chinese accelerator makers are raising prices by roughly 20% to 50%, while Micron’s HBM4 is already in high-volume production for Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform. That is good news for memory suppliers, but it may also push up system prices or pressure how much margin Nvidia keeps from each AI installation.
Discuss: If HBM remains scarce, will AI buyers tolerate higher system prices, or will accelerator makers have to absorb more of the cost?
