Perplexity chief executive Aravind Srinivas says people are using its Computer agent for recurring finance tasks, including tracking spending and budgets. He says a third of usage across these kinds of finance use cases is recurring automation.
Why it mattersSrinivas also described connecting a portfolio through the product to help users research investments and shape a portfolio. He says users remain in control of trades and purchases, with the agent doing research and analysis rather than pulling the trigger. That is a more grounded picture of the “personal CFO” pitch: ongoing monitoring and decision support, not an AI with the keys to your bank account. The usage figure is Srinivas’s account in a Yahoo Finance interview, not an independently measured breakdown.
Discuss: Would you trust an AI to monitor your spending and investment options if it could not make transactions, or would you still keep that work entirely manual?
